Howdy all,<\/p>\n
It’s been a few weeks. \u00a0This summer has been busy and crazy. \u00a0My sister, who is 14 years younger than me, graduated high school and is going to attend UW Stevens Point in the fall (my Alma matter). \u00a0My brother and his wife are expecting the first week of August (an exciting time for them). \u00a0Any my other brother and his wife bought a lovely house just outside of Madison.<\/p>\n
Now, if you were wondering about the title of this post, the past month has been spent combating fleas in our apartment. \u00a0At the start of the summer we had noticed our cat was scratching more than usual. \u00a0In addition, she was depositing tiny dots everywhere she went. \u00a0We finally buckled down, and took her into the vet where it was determined, she indeed has fleas.<\/p>\n
We’ve tried a collar, sprays, and a topical to treat the fleas on the cat. \u00a0We’ve washed every piece of fabric in the apartment. \u00a0We even steam cleaned the rugs. \u00a0And finally today, we fumigated the apartment.<\/p>\n
Through all of this poor Lisa (my wonderful girlfriend and roommate) has had to do all the cleaning, has had to bathe the cat, apply the treatments, and just generally deal with one grumpy flea-ridden kitty. \u00a0My contribution in this process has been bringing Lisa a refreshing iced Mocha from the nearby coffee shop, while providing moral support.<\/p>\n
Sadly when I try to scrub the counters, wash dishes, or fold laundry I quickly find myself exhausted to the point I can barely lift a glass of water. \u00a0Even when chasing the cat to apply another round of treatment or brushing for fleas, I can do little to stop Minerva as she darts between my tires, and hides under my chair.<\/p>\n
So, in short, the summer has been spent trying to escape the fleas and their torment. \u00a0I tell you, having itching legs at night, when you can neither move your legs nor reach down and scratch them, is its’ own purgatory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
