Well, it’s come to it.\u00a0 That’s right, after four wonderful years together my girlfriend and I are engaged.<\/p>\n

We’ve had many wonderfully adventures together, and are looking forward to many more.\u00a0 From our childhood memories of our shared hometown of Rudolph, to the first day that Lisa moved into the Madison apartment I shared with my brother, we’ve had many an interesting time and tale.<\/p>\n

Just this past summer we perused the streets of the Big Easy, taking in the Jazz, the food, and all of the sights.\u00a0 An adventure in the land of gators and gumbo left us with many a memory that we gladly share.<\/p>\n

As we share this journey, we hope for many more tales, and many more adventures.\u00a0 And like every fairy tale, we will weather the ups and downs of this fantasy romance.<\/p>\n

As for the deets of the proposal? Well …<\/p>\n

It had been months in the making.\u00a0 I purchased the perfect ring, with the help of my wonderful sister-in-law and brother.\u00a0 I got tickets to Lisa’s favorite play, Rent, making sure to get some of the best seats in the house.\u00a0 And as the final touch, I booked a romantic dinner at a lakeside restaurant with an incredible view.<\/p>\n

Coincidentally, the best day for seeing Rent also happened to fall on the exact day of our first date four years ago (a frigid January 5th in 2014).\u00a0 So I set up the meal, got a ride to dinner and the show, and waited, ring in tow, for the perfect moment (wanting to wait until after the play so Lisa could enjoy the play without distraction).<\/p>\n

The meal was wonderful, and we each enjoyed a wonderful entree and cocktail.\u00a0 We then proceeded to the show, the Paratransit bus serving as our fairytale coach.\u00a0 The play was incredible, fraught with emotion and humor.\u00a0 A timeless tale of love, romance, and the ups and downs of life (fitting for our own tale).<\/p>\n

As the show concluded, with an epic and emotionally charged finale, I patiently waited. As the applause died down, and people began to file out of the auditorium, I calculated my every move.<\/p>\n

“Lisa, could you grab something out of my pouch?”, I asked.<\/p>\n

She reached into the bag.\u00a0 Upon finding a small box, stared into my eyes with a questioning stare of wonder and awe.\u00a0 As she opened the box, I simply nodded with a beaming smile.\u00a0 Before I could get the first words out, of my planned speech and praise, she abruptly stated “Yes!”.\u00a0 We were both ecstatic.<\/p>\n

Wedding bells may be a little ways off yet.\u00a0 But one thing’s for sure.\u00a0 We couldn’t be happier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
