When we purchased our house in 2018, it came with a nicely furnished Den.<\/p>\n

As the months went on though, the carpet, which appears to have been quickly installed, came loose and began causing issues for my wheelchair.\u00a0 As the problems grew, we began to investigate replacing the carpet with new flooring.\u00a0 Our hopes soared, with choices of linoleum, vinyl and a plethora of patterns and styles.<\/p>\n

As we talked with stores about flooring, they noted we should test the under flooring for asbestos.\u00a0 The tests came back positive.<\/p>\n

We began consulting with abatement vendors and flooring vendors.\u00a0 After months of work, we had a plan, but the carpet was tearing, the chair getting stuck, and things were getting worse.<\/p>\n

We had the flooring company come and remove the carpet ASAP, as none of the other attempts to hold down the carpet worked for more than a few days at a time (duct-tape, plastic floor cover, …).<\/p>\n

Finally, after months of planning, we coordinated a time where the abatement company and the flooring company could complete the project.<\/p>\n

Finally, after months of planning, coordinating, and dealing with a troublesome carpet, we had a nice new, wheelchair friendly, Den.<\/p>\n
