Fully vaccinated and raring to get out, we’ve decided to make a series of small day trips around Wisconsin this summer.\u00a0 Top on our list, venturing to Milwaukee.\u00a0 Milwaukee is only roughly one hour away, and is an alluring destination, with a lot to offer.<\/p>\n

I’ve only been to Milwaukee a handful of times, during my childhood, but Lisa has regularly gone to Milwaukee, as her sister Kim lived in Milwaukee, for a number of years.\u00a0 She would regale with stories of the nice lakefront parks, the restaurants, the wonderful shops and bookstore, Boswell books (a favorite of hers).<\/p>\n

With fond memories of the Mitchel Park Domes and the Milwaukee Art Museum, Lisa and I decided to ask a caregiver to take us to Milwaukee for the day.\u00a0 Our focus, was having some fun, while keeping relatively safe during the ongoing pandemic.<\/p>\n

On the way to Milwaukee, we hit a nice Cajun restaurant on the riverfront of Johnson Creek, and had some wonderful food outdoors.<\/p>\n

Afterward we packed up and made our way to the Domes.\u00a0 Lisa had never been to the domes before, so we enjoyed ourselves, observing the ornate arrangements of flowers, tropical plants, and desert plants.<\/p>\n

The slope of several sections of the dome paths was a little challenging for me to keep my balance in my wheelchair, as I fall over easily.\u00a0 My new padded cushion has a lot more give, and so I tend to flop about more.<\/p>\n

Afterward we ventured forward to the lakefront area, to visit a few favored shops of Lisa’s, including Boswell books.\u00a0 Boswell is a nice, medium-sized book store, and has a very welcoming layout and setup.<\/p>\n

After Boswell, we ventured over to the lakefront.\u00a0 Boasting extravagant mansions, but lacking quality curb cuts on the sidewalks, we made our way hoping to glimpse Lake Michigan and the North Point Lighthouse.<\/p>\n

There were several restaurants and venues I’d love to visit, once the pandemic is quelled, but pencil that for another trip.<\/p>\n
