In 2008 I had just recently moved to Madison, WI. \u00a0Each year during the summer Madison hosts the Iron Man Triathlon event. \u00a0The finish line for this event runs down State Street. \u00a0Venturing out to meet up with some friends, I raced up to the Capital square, unaware of the events going on. \u00a0As I begin to cruise down the sidewalks of State Street I notice people walking in the street, quite winded. \u00a0Up ahead the sidewalk was blocked, so I joined the people in the street, cruising by at my full 8 1\/2 MPH. \u00a0As I pass by numerous\u00a0people in the street, on my way to meet with some friends on the UW campus, I notice some goal posts with a checkered flag labelled “Iron Man 2008”. \u00a0 I zip past the finish posts and cruise on to the UW Humanities building to meet with my friends. \u00a0As I arrive at the agreed upon location and greet my friends I note, “I think I just won the Iron Man”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
